KKR strengthens India team; Appoints Heramb Hajarnavis as Director

Mumbai, August 31, 2010 -- KKR India Advisors Private Limited (together with affiliates, “KKR”) today announced the appointment of Heramb Hajarnavis as Director to be based in Mumbai. Hajarnavis joins KKR from Goldman Sachs where he served as Managing Director, Principal Investment Area for India. In his new role, Hajarnavis will work closely with Sanjay Nayar, Member of KKR and CEO of KKR India, to grow KKR’s private equity business in India.
“Heramb brings to KKR the global expertise and local experience that we provide to support portfolio companies in India and across the world,” said Nayar. “Having worked across North America, South-East Asia and India, Heramb’s extensive knowledge of finance and private equity functions will strengthen KKR’s operations in India.”
Hajarnavis started his career at Goldman Sachs and served in leadership positions across various locations. Moving to Goldman Sachs in India, he played an important role in identifying investment opportunities and driving the strategic growth of the Principal Investment Area business that he led. In between his stints at Goldman Sachs, Hajarnavis also served in a senior management position at Centennial Communications, a NASDAQ listed private equity-led portfolio company.
Hajarnavis holds an S.B. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
