Mumbai, August 1, 2011 -- Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. (together with affiliates, "KKR") announces the appointment of Dhiren Mehta as Director of KKR India. Mr. Mehta joins KKR from Nomura where he served as Executive Director, Head of Fixed Income Institutional Sales for India and will work to grow KKR's multi-asset class business in India. In his new role, Mr. Mehta will work with the KKR team in Mumbai headed by Mr. Sanjay Nayar, Member of KKR and CEO of KKR India, and Mr. B V Krishnan, Director and head of KKR's Non-Banking Financial Company ("NBFC").
"Dhiren is one of India's most experienced and trusted fixed income sales professionals, and that coupled with his relevant balance sheet management expertise as well will greatly benefit KKR's efforts in India," said Sanjay Nayar. Mr. Mehta started his career at Citigroup, where he worked for over 17 years across both the equity and fixed income domains. He played an important role in building Citigroup's fixed income sales platform in India, and also served as the head of Citigroup's credit trading business in India. He was also the Managing Director for the Primary Dealership vehicle at Citigroup. Mr. Mehta has also served as a Board Member of the Primary Dealership Association of India. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Mehta headed the fixed income institutional sales for Nomura in India.
Mr. Mehta is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
