April 19, 2012
NEW YORK, April 19, 2012 -- Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. (together with its affiliates, "KKR") today announced the appointment of Jennifer Hanley as Director of Global Communications and Corporate Engagement. Ms. Hanley, who will be based in KKR's New York office, joins KKR from J.P. Morgan Chase, where she oversaw marketing and communications related to the firm's international expansion efforts and was a senior member of the global communications team. Concurrently, KKR announced that Kristi Huller, formerly Deputy Director of Communications, has been promoted to Director of Communications for the Americas.
Ms. Hanley will oversee global communications and corporate engagement activities including corporate citizenship and philanthropy, external and internal communications, as well as other global initiatives. In her new role, Ms. Huller will oversee external communications for KKR's activities in the Americas, including the continued management of media relations for the region.
"Best-in-class communication and engagement with all of our stakeholders is a critical component of KKR's ability to create value for clients and portfolio companies," said Ken Mehlman, Member and Head of Global Public Affairs. He continued: "We view Jennifer's many years of world class experience in some of the most challenging communications environments as a benefit to KKR and all of our stakeholders. We are excited about the new roles for Jennifer and Kristi as we continue to expand KKR's commitment to transparency and partnership through our Global Public Affairs team."
Ms. Hanley, most recently a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan Chase on the corporate communications team, worked in a variety of communications roles at the firm with a focus on corporate responsibility, government relations, and global expansion. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan Chase, Ms. Hanley served as press secretary for Hillary Clinton during her tenure as a U.S. Senator and during her presidential campaign.
Ms. Hanley stated: "KKR has a strong commitment to engage with all of the stakeholders impacted by its investment and activities. I am enthusiastic about joining the team and adding value for all of KKR's partners."
Ms. Huller has been a critical part of the KKR Global Public Affairs team since 2008, helping lead communications efforts for several of KKR's major developments including the firm's listing on the New York Stock Exchange and the launch of new business units, and for KKR's ongoing business activities.
The KKR Global Public Affairs team, led by Ken Mehlman, oversees KKR's external affairs, including corporate marketing, communication and citizenship, government and regulatory affairs, and environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities for KKR and the firm's investment processes.
