Sanjay Nayar to become Chairman
Gaurav Trehan to Head KKR’s Private Equity Business
HONG KONG & MUMBAI – KKR today announced that Sanjay Nayar, CEO of KKR India, will transition to a new role as Chairman of KKR India, effective December 31, 2020, and Gaurav Trehan has joined the firm as Head of KKR’s Private Equity business in India.
As Chairman, Mr. Nayar will advise and assist KKR’s India business by leveraging his connectivity and experience across the country.

Gaurav Trehan joined KKR earlier this year from TPG Capital Asia, where he spent more than 15 years and was most recently a Partner in its India office. He has evaluated and executed private equity transactions across a diverse range of sectors in India.
Prior to joining TPG, he worked in the Mergers, Acquisitions, and Restructurings Department of Morgan Stanley with a focus on the technology sector. Mr. Trehan received a BS in Mathematics/Applied Science and Economics from UCLA.
